Welcome to this weeks thread this week we are looking at trains, boats ,planes and cars in art, no matter what medium is used. Boats have been a subject for many many years , the trained folles by cars and close behind planes , what I have done is to choose more modern painters of boats . When you  talk about painting boats I think people automatically assume it galleons etc , but it’s a varied subject. I’m not running in any particular order I have statecraft with boats and added a few trains . Over the week I will be delving into the POL gallery and picking up some of the wonderful painting in there by our very talented members.  1/ Patrick Ley-Greaves  2/ David Drury  3/ Van Gough  4/ Our very own Alan Bickley  5&6 Terence  Cuneo Last but no least one of my favourite artists, wildlife and trains David Shepherd
Excellent idea Dixie, and a great selection to kick off! Will choose something later- so much to look at.

That’s a cracking painting by Alan. Bickley David Shepherd I greatly admire and an inspiration. The night Scotsman the colours say it all and a very unusual striking poster at that.

Wonderful  stuff.  One of my favourite painters of boats, often with watercolour and pastel combined, is Ray Balkwill - should you happen to find one of his; I'd look  but I always manage to make a dog's breakfast of posting images to the forum.
Robert keep your dog out of the breakfast, you know it makes sense.

You beat me to it Jenny.
A couple from David Curtis, always one of my favourite artists.
Stunning paintings. Especially like Paul's first one, Alan's painting (especially the sky), and the trains.
Another Ray Balkwill. I particularly like the light in this one.
