Welcome to this weeks thread , I have made a change to the listed featuring artist as the two I was initially going to introduce painted boats . While one did landscapes as well I though it unkind to force to many maritime paintings on you . My featuring artists this week are : Thomas W Shaller and g Moishi Sokal. Thomas  W Shaller is an American artist who predominantly paint watercolours. He became interested in drawing and art as young boy  despite his father being anti art, hiding his drawings away . Thomas was given a book by his grandmother  of  painting in museums, he decided that painting would be his chosen profession. Fortunately he persevered with his ambition and today is a very accomplished artist .  I’ve not found a lot of information about him , so I’m hoping that his artwork says enough.

I'm used to seeing Schallers work in the vein of your first example, Paul.  Its nice to see his figure work and closer studies. He seems to have mastered the knack of wet on wet in his townscapes.
Another very fine artist.  I like all of these.  Slightly puzzled by the last of Paul’s posts.  The man in the barber’s doesn’t appear to be sat in the chair yet his gown overlaps it in a ghostly fashion?
I never noticed that, Lew.  I went to his website to see if there was a narrative or story behind it, then I found this slightly strange one. He's certainly busy!
There is certainly something fascinating about his style.  Looking on line I found these two landscapes which appealed to me.
A few more , he certainly some different perspectives to the norm, I certainly wouldn’t be able to do them . I not sure if I do like his work or if it that I find then interesting, and want to see more, I particularly like the last one of this batch .

A versatile artist.  I especially like this one - colours and style.

Fabulous work, I like every painting on show. I've never really tried watercolour but I very much admire those who do and especially someone this talented. I love how the white paper is left untouched and used in such an effective way as in the painting of the bridge - wonderful.
Fantastically talented. Delicate yet strong. I like them all.
Beautiful watercolours- how I’d love to be able to paint like that! I like your comment Marjorie-delicate yet strong, a good description.
Like Russell I’ve never seriously tried the wizardry of watercolour, indeed it seems like a foreign language to me! This work is really high level and I like the depth of colour and tone he achieves which is sometimes lacking in watercolour, but which you are more likely to find in other mediums such as oils.  I like your first batch best Dixie, and like Lew, I feel the chap in the barber chair is a bit odd! Here are a few that I chose.
