Coda: should you find yourself in Italy between now and the end of Jan 2025 there is a major Frankenthaler exhibition at the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi (which also includes a few works by Rothko, Pollock and others):

I discovered this via the Week in Art podcast -- professionally done and highly recommended. This week's edition is excellent, covering (in depth, albeit via audio) the new Monet exhibition in London, a major Matisse retrospective in Basel, as well as the Frankenthaler. For Matisse fans in particular it is worth a listen to the podcast as it goes into quite some detail about his artistic development.
