Welcome to the weekend’s bonus artist thread am pleased to present thus weeks Artist but the credit must go to Jenny as she mentioned her in the Introduction to Robert Bevan . Stanislawa de Karlowska 1876- 1952. Was a Polish born artist who was a founder member of the London Group. Her work combined a modernist style with elements of Polish folk art. Stanislawa trained as an artist on the Women’s Course lead by Wiwsolowski in Warsaw. In 1897 she went to Jersey for the wedding of  art student Jeannine Flamm to Eric Forbes Robertson  where she met Robert Beven , they married at the end of the year.  There is a good biography of her life on Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy my choices of her artwork.
A few more of her paintings .
I like some of her landscapes which are similar in style to those of her husband, but although she exhibited with the London Town group of artists for many years (as a woman she had not been eligible to join the Camden Group) she apparently sold relatively few paintings in her lifetime, with her work and achievements often being overshadowed by those of her husband, Robert Bevan.
I quite like her work especially the flower paintings above, but she lacks the oomph and originality of her husband. I wonder if she tried to paint like him even subconsciously.
