I also really like his style and use of colour, especially the first three shown.
Potthast - a name of German origin, and that of Heinrich Himmler's mistress.... happily nothing to do with this artist, whose richly coloured work is a pleasure to see.
I think his work is joyful, and his beach scenes reminds me a little of Sorolla. Here are a few more.
I love those intense blues he achieves, don't you?
A bit late to the party.   Two very good artists, I’m particularly taken with the second artist.  The work reminds me of Jocquen  Sorolla (probably spelt that wrong), especially the beach scenes.  Think we featured him. Thanks for the intros.
We did Lew some time ago-one of my favourites.  Robert you are right about his use of blues. Takes confidence to do that but doesn’t it help to emphasise light.
A real find, beautiful work. Yes, lovely use of blue.
I find all the 3 artists interesting. Their artworks are expressive. Wonder how long it takes to achieve such an excellence.
A long time and many hours of work I should think .
Sorolla, yes. But I’m sure many artists at that time were discovering similar things re light.
