Welcome to this weekends thread of Inspiration from Artists this weekend my choice of bonus artist is: Clare Caulfield . Clare is a UK based artist and printmaker producing paintings and prints inspired by her travels to beautiful cities. In a recent interview she stated that “ Her love of drawing lends itself perfectly to her work as a printmaker. Screen printing allows me to transfer the lively sketchbook drawings produced while on location onto paper or canvas.” I hope you enjoy my selection of her work and fine more online to add to the thread.
Very good. I like her quirky style.
This style of architecture drawing appeals to me, it's all a bit wonky and I prefer that to drawings made with straight lines where everything is meticulously accurate.  Both styles require great skill, but the 'wonky' style gets my vote because it shows the artist's hand.   Many illustrators that I admire draw this way...Ronald Searle comes immediately to mind. A few I like... I like to see artist's workplaces and found this interesting.  It looks like much of her work is fairly large scale.
Not sure what to make of her quirky style - I like some of it.

This sort of work will always appeal to me far more than careful, meticulous, perspective-perfect renditions; and I recognize some of these places, so she's still got them right even if the lines wander. I generalize of course - show me a more "correct" approach, and I'm quite likely to  be impressed, especially if I'd struggle (badly) to do it myself.
I like these  - a great style. Here's one I was impressed with:
