Welcome to this weeks bonus artist thread a bit of a puzzle this week , I have had this artist on hold for a few weeks be as in not able to find any more information about him than in about to post . I have a gut feeling we have seen his work before but cannot find it on the forum , it could be that I looked at it so much it’s become familiar to me. Colin Turner 1936 - 2006 Rostrevour Co Down. Well that it folks if someone could find out more I would appreciate it . My reason for coming to the decision to post his work without a full introduction is thst I think it’s worth looking at . I hope you agree and find some more to post there are quite a few on the internet.
A couple more of his paintings.
I do like those last two Dixie. I had a look and found another Colin Turner who paints mainly scenes of and around the Thames. I thought at first it might be the same artist, as not a lot of info about either, but the style is different.
Tessa I came across a few Colin Turners all very different styles , and like you I discovered few details about most of then . I did follow a link for this Colin Turner as I said biography but when I opened the site it said Biography Currently Not Available so no further with my search . I’m hoping that Jenny of one of the other forum members who are better at researching on the internet will come up with something, still pleased that I posted his work and not waited longer as it deserves to be seen .
Paul, I had a look this morning and, like Tessa, discounted another Colin Turner because his style and subjects were different.  However, if your date of 1936 is correct, there would appear to be a third artist by that name, born 1950 - see below, the third painting shown is one of those you last posted.  Couldn’t find any more about a Colin Turner born 1936.
I did look at it at the time and wondered if it was his but took the risk . I will rest contented now as if you are not able to find anymore information then I don’t stand a cat in hells chance ( sorry cat lovers ).
A few more of his paintings , wish I could find more about him.
https://www.colinturnerart.co.uk/ This artist has a very rudimentary website which tells you not that much about him - certainly not his dates, though I don't think a birth-date of 1936 is likely.  Same man?
https://colinturnerswork.com/ And then there's this one: very different work, not the same painter. This Colin Turner has also written novels.
And I thought Jones was a common name....
That’s the problem Robert getting enough information to pick which artist it is I’m going on a photo that had a couple of his paintings alongside and his signature. You can see why I was a bit reluctant to post his work for a while but then decided why not someone might find out more information about him . Not a brilliant artist but his work is good and worth a look at .
Paul, if you look at the very first painting you posted, it appears to have the same signature as most of the others posted (and attributed on several sites to the 1950 born Colin Turner) so it’s likely that it’s the same artist.  Online auction and gallery sites sometimes do show incorrect info.  Doesn’t help with finding more about him, though, as none of the sites shows a biography.  (Neither of the sites Robert refers to are the one you’re looking for.)  Doesn’t stop your enjoyment of his paintings, though!
