Welcome to week 46 Bonus artist : Ronnie Wood 1947 , yes the one from the Rolling Stones. Formal art training at Ealing College of Art , he continued to painting  , drawing and printmaking throughout his musical career, painting friends etc. Swapped a life of sex, drugs and  rock and Role for a quieter existence in his rural studio. I hope you enjoy his artwork, I was surprised at the standard despite been doubting when I first noticed one of his paintings. Look forward to the feedback and your selections .

I’m impressed! I like them. Many musicians, actors etc also paint, for their own pleasure and some at a high level. Off the top of my head…Tony Curtis, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, - Bryan Ferry went to Kings College Art School, Newcastle, before it was a university, though I don’t know what his art is like. Creativity in its many forms I suppose.
Apparently his contemporaries at Ealing College of Art included Pete Townshend and Freddie Mercury.  I’ve seen quite a lot of his work before, a talented artist.

He’s been painting much longer than he’s been playing a guitar. I really like this rhino he did. I’ve painted him too, (Ronnie that is, not the rhino) for a friend of mine who’s nuts abut the Rolling Stones.

Surprised and impressed, why I should be surprised I don't know.  A vigorous colourful style.  I like his drawings.  Here's a couple of pics I like... ...'electric Horses' Billy Holiday...

I had no idea he painted and with such flair and talent. I like the fact that he painted such a variety of subjects also. Here are a few I like.  Ashfield forest.  Storm on the Sea of Galilee (assume during and after storm).
He's a talented lad, is Mr Wood.  And 76 this year - Lord knows where these fellers get their energy from: not from me, that's for sure.
What exciting work.
Loved the portrait of the old duke - Wood obviously respected him, as do I: maybe you have to be of his and (almost) my age, but I was touched by it.  Almost the last time the Duke performed a public service: a reference to a time when public service was properly understood, and I value it, for one.
