Welcome to this weekend’s bonus artist Chris Mc Morrow.  Irish artist Cris McMorrow specialises in cityscape and landscape paintings. Born in Dublin it’s no surprise that he focuses on Dublin itself. His work tends towards rainy atmospheric scenes, people at work, at play or leisure populate his paintings .  I hope you enjoy his artwork, one of the many artist that I came across whist researching for the thread.
Interesting style with his rather strong use of colour.  I like the softer look in this watercolour. And the vibrancy of the poppies in this one (acrylic).

Two excellent painting Jenny , I particularly like your first choice. I like his work and see how talented he is , the bright colours are a little bit over the top for me but that’s just me, his choice of subjects are definitely to my liking . Again a artist who paints local scenes and you can feel the place as he knows it so well.
No doubt a talented artist but I feel I want to turn down the colour! I guess he’s very commercial in painting people’s local scenes and pubs in particular which probably sell very well to people who know the area.
Being contrary, I react against overtly commercial paintings: and some of these are a bit on the romantic side for my taste.  However - those poppies are almost startling in their intensity, and I like his quieter paintings, including the watercolour.  The colour-saturated paintings probably reflect the buzz of the city, the world of night-life entertainment, and they do work; but they're not the ones to which I'm most attracted.  Maybe because late-night partying is far behind me - I'm more bedroom slippers and Ovaltine these days...
