Welcome to this weeks thread the Featuring artists are Ng Woon Lam and Jane Perkins.I will start with the introduction to Ng Woon Lam and on Wednesday Jenny will introduce Jane Perkins. I hope you enjoy the two artist . Ng Woon Lam born in Johor Malaysia in 1971 and moved to Singapore in 1992, he is a Asian Modern and Contemporary Artist.  He is a Tenure Associate Professor at School of Art, Design &Media Nangyang Technical University Singapore. His academic expertise is in the area of colour theory, design concepts and Chinese calligraphy in art.  When asked in an interview how long it had taken him to become a artist his reply was “ twenty five years and a few hours more”. I hope you enjoy my choices of his work and I’m looking forward to your responses. Sorry I have been very greedy.

Paul, was looking at some of Rowland Henry Hill’s work and recognised one of the paintings - he was featured fairly recently, I believe, as a bonus artist.
I check that , but your usually right. Thanks I will sort it out before Wednesday.
Jenny will you do Jane Perkins on Wednesday please . I will alter the heading when you confirm.
Paul, yes, that’s OK.
Thank you Jenny, I’m cross with myself as I checked the list to make sure neither artist had featured before and completely missed seeing his name. I will make the changes now.
A few more of his paintings.
Not too keen on his watercolours and work in general, but do like a few of his impressionistic oil paintings, especially this one, the colours are lovely.  Have found during this series that even if an artist’s work doesn’t appeal, you can usually find at least one painting that you like.

I’m a bit picky with his work some I like most I think are to fussy . I agree with you Jenny no matter what you think of a artist generally there is usually something that you like .
I agree with Jenny. The work is far to busy and it's difficult to find focus. I'm not keen on any of it.
I rather like his work because I like the interesting subject matter and depth of colour and tone, often missing in western style watercolour. Yes his work is very busy but I don’t have a problem with that.  I especially like Dixie’s first choice above, and the building which I think is a temple with red lanterns outside.
This strikes me as Asian, but not quite Asian scenes painted in a western but not quite western style.  I find them fascinating.  They are indeed colourful as is his impressionistic oil.  Given the signature on the latter, I can't help but wonder if he has dabbled in digital art.
