Paul Gustav Fischer 1860-1934, a Danish painter belonging to a fourth generation Jewish family originally from Poland . The family was upper middle class , his farther started out as a painter but later succeeded in the business of manufacturing paints and lacquers . He spent two years at the Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen he then worked from 1878 - 1888 at his farthers factory whist exhibiting regularly. I hope you enjoy his artwork.

Another interesting and very proficient artist unknown to me. Of Dixie’s choice above I particularly like the two which are virtually in monotone with a little colour added to his figures. This is my selection. The interior scene I like because it seems to have warmth to it. I like his self portrait and that of his wife, not as stiff as many portraits especially of that period. Then the snow scene, again very muted but effective.
