Welcome to this weekend’s bonus artist John Rogers born 1939. John Rogers us a Welsh artist born in Cardiff and studied at Cardiff College of Art , he has a studio in St David’s and paints in watercolour and oil. John is one of the many artist new to me discovery whilst researching for the thread . We have had quite a few Welsh artist over the last few weeks but as he was on my list I though I would continue and show his work   I will be interested to see how his work is seen and compared with the other artist working in the same area .
Lovely work, I've just been looking through it. A new artist for me, I was not aware of him. Mint Tea in Essaouira. Watercolour. Potato Picking Carn Llidi, North Pembrokeshire. Oil
Chosen two of his watercolours that I like, but not keen on his style generally - a lot of his work is a bit too “smooth” if that description makes sense.  Prefer the work of a couple of the other Welsh artists we’ve looked at.

Another unknown to me! I particularly like the second and third of Dixie’s choices above, and have chosen a few of his Iceland paintings which show the strangeness of the landscape, and the last one is just great fun!

Some  nice choices Denise , Jenny and Tessa. I agree Jenny his paintings don’t have that rugged look that previous arts have in their work , is that partly due to the texture of the paint I know some are watercolour but his oils seem so much smoother. I leave it to our oil paint users to decide on that as it out of my knowledge range. I hope Robert or Alan will be able to enlighten us more . Two more to be going on with
