That's a superb book Tessa one I have read a few times . Two artist from me today . John Jenson 1930 - 2018I’ve always been fascinated by Beardsley’s work. His intricate line art and bold use of black and white just pull you in. I remember first seeing his illustrations in an old edition of Oscar Wilde’s *Salome*, and it completely changed how I viewed book art. It’s amazing how he could convey so much with such minimalism. If you’re into that style, have you checked out Harry Clarke’s work? He’s got that same dark, detailed vibe.Ronald Green 1896-1972

What a fantastic selection. I like them all, had not heard of all, but the beach drawing by Helen Craig is particularly crazy and good! I also remember my dad getting the Giles cartoon book every Christmas, and all of us ploughing through it. I haven’t had a chance to pick anything but did remember this from a wonderful book which I recommend to anyone interested in the English countryside, old ways, and saving the planet!I’ve always been inspired by book illustrators, especially after reading a beautifully illustrated version of Alice in Wonderland* It made me think about the power of visuals in storytelling.![]()
