As you will know Jenny is taking some well deserved time out to concentrate oh her exhibitions , so it’s down to me to run the thread for a while. I have toyed with the idea of stopping the thread as we seem to be in a lull and I’m not sure if that’s because people are bored with the thread. My preferred option would be to continue with some of you occasional joining in with introducing artists , if I have names I can add the to the program. I do have a list of around two or more hundred artists who we haven’t seen as yet , but I’m not sure you would want me hogging the list. In the interim I’m proposing featuring one new artist a week and bring one from the list of artists already featured, this will be on random choice basis unless you have artist that you want to revisit. I will also add the occasional week whereby we look at a specific subject, material etc again suggestions would be appreciated. I you feel that a break for a while is the preferred option than I will go with the majority. I will add that I and quite happy to continue to work on the thread very much as it it’s with the occasional addition from yourselves. Your view and comments will be welcomed as I then know what way to proceed.

All sounds good to carry on Dixie if you don’t mind and that’s the general consensus.  I’ve also been preparing for a small exhibition this weekend so thankfully that will soon be over! Didn’t realise it could be so stressful and time consuming.  Good luck Jenny with yours.

Thank you, Tessa - hope yours goes well!  Autumn is always a very busy time for me exhibition-wise but I’ve also this year got a lot of other stuff to deal with, so felt I needed to take a break from the thread for a while - feel a bit mean leaving Paul to keep it going on his own, but hopefully others will join in and help him out. Paul, you could maybe have one week, perhaps monthly, where people could post paintings or other forms of artwork  which they’ve come across and particularly like, even if the name of the artist isn’t known - a bit like Martin’s Handsome Portrait thread but on wider subjects.

I think Jenny’s suggestion is a very good idea.  It relieves you from swatting up on an artist, something that not everybody is prepared to do.

If anyone has names of artist they would like to see featured but don’t want to do the  presentations etc do let me have them and I will do the rest . What I will do is feature the artist and say who recommend them, what I trying to avoid is  you all having to suffer my choices , I do deliberately feature artist that I personally wouldn’t normally choose . If I only put up my favourites it would be a maritime, landscape and trees fest , I do enjoy the research and the challenge of finding artist that you might not have head about before ,there will inevitably be similar works and repeats of the weeks specials like , still life,life sketches etc .  Thank you for your support and encouragement.
