Welcome to this weekend bonus artist thread , I’m  always a bit nervous introducing a bonus artist after we have had such a positive week , and a bit worried that they aren’t taken so seriously. However I think I’ve found a very talented artist to end this week on . James Wright, was born in 1935 in Peterborough, during his school years he was particularly interested in art. Unfortunately he want encouraged to take up a career in this field and on leaving school he became a policeman.  In 1963 Janes started to paint in oils simply for pleasure, by 1965 soon after his marriage his painting career had taken a firm hold. His paintings are mainly of Lincolnshire and East Anglia specialising in landscape and river scenes.  The basis of his work is simple- trees, ploughed fields and farmhouses, but with and the East Anglian skys .   One critic described James Wright as one of the “ English Romantics of the Century “.  I find his work a bit different to the usual landscapes we see , he certainly captures the scene’s beauty and shows the beauty of our landscape, if that’s romantic then so are most landscape artists.  I hope you enjoy my selection and find some that you like , bit difficult as there are several James Wright with painting online.
I’m wondering if the third one down is the same artist as the rest…I like it the most anyway.
I did double check it Marjorie and it came out as his , there are a few other very similar online . I don’t fully trust the internet as it often recuts a painting to a person and it’s not theirs .
Not sure why you worry Paul, I think they are beautiful.  Although it's been a great arty week these are a pastoral ahh!. I like them and so quintessentially British. A great choice.. I'd never heard of him either,  so good to learn about him. I agree with Marjorie that third one doesn't look the same. But artists can have different styles.
I think I like  best the second to last.  (The signature on the third one down looks to be the same as the one above it.)
It does Jenny, yet a reverse search has him as James Couper Wright. Are they one and the same ? Whatever, I do like it.

It’s very confusing Marjorie I’ve had difficulty as it has come up with both names on occasion for different paintings.
Marjorie, I also noticed a reverse image search comes up with the name James Couper Wright against the image of the third painting, but if you go into the site it shows paintings by both James Couper Wright and James Wright, and their styles are very different.  This often happens on some of these sites, and it can make things quite confusing!
Fine work whoever the artists are.
