Card collecting is a sizeable interest for many people. I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised, they are easier to store and display than things like posters. Some collect antique cards, others themed cards, and some one particular card...like the Ace or the Joker. Here are some examples of illustrated cards.
The first is a collection of some of the earliest joker cards...
A range of others with many themes...
And finally back to a design by the artist whose sketchbook drawings triggered my interest...
I'm going to wrap this up now. I wasn't sure how much interest there would be, and I was right to have those doubts. A special thanks to those few who did respond. These are all about illustration, which is my thing. I'll quietly carry on with my card pics in the background.
That's all folks!

Thanks for reinstating the post Paul. I’ll leave it there. I’ve no clue what’s rattling the cage, no dodgy links, no sales pitch, no obscenity, no rudeness…just me prattling on about illustrated cards. It certainly makes me think twice about initiating any new threads. Very dispiriting, but I expect the feeling will pass.
