i enjoy finding photo's from this period and painting them in an expressionist style...sombre colours and a hint of brightness but not over the top dull

Just a bit of advice Escorial . You should just add your post to the existing one and dont start another thread . Quite a few of us do paintings from time to time based on photos , but only for the idea and of course not copied . look forward to seeing your work.
