I've reached my daily quota for the Gallery, but here are a few more from sketchbooks, all on a theme of sea and beaches (where one can just sit and sketch).
All done en plein air, without a safety net!
Brown Breakers, near Sidmouth Devon
The red soil washes into the sea causing the waves to appear brown.
Blackpool Sands
Between Dartmouth and Slapton, Devon
Between the Cliffs, Sidari, Corfu
A rough sea trying to pass between two headlands.
Sunbathing

There's also some rubbish in my sketchbooks. But that's what they are for.
Happy pics of happy times, Sylvia. I just wish those opportunities would present themselves again... and soon! Like many, I suppose, the Covid situation is giving me the right hump, I can tell you! Inspiration is hiding somewhere.
Thanks to everyone for their kind comments here and in the Gallery. Much appreciated

I've seen some beautiful artists' sketchbooks - full of excellent drawings, professionally accomplished: um ....... mine aren't like that, on the whole. They're for experimenting and playing abaht a bit.... I did think of having only 'good' drawings in them, putting the rubbish on spare bits of paper rapidly discarded: and then thought - what a pseud you'd be! For some, though - it's just the way they work: incapable of producing a rotten drawing; but Colin, if that's you - it's not me; I'm very capable of producing an absolutely rotten drawing, especially if I'm not in front of my subject.
Even so - I like to see sketchbook drawings - I think many of us might be embarrassed to show them, but why? We all produce rubbish sometimes, and there's usually something in there to suggest a way to making it a bit better. It might also be a lot more instructive (and encouraging) to beginners than our finished work.

Thank you Denise.
The Gallery isn't letting me post at the moment - I've reached my daily (24 hours) quota. I will add as and when. In the meantime, here are a few more - all rapid pencil sketches to catch the moment.
Picnic at Runnymede
An unknown group enjoying time by the river.
Sandcastles
Didn't quite capture the child's head, but he kept moving. (No consideration)
The two 'Grannies'.
Dressed for a summer afternoon on a Cornish beach.
Note the absence of faces in all three. I just can't do them!
Finally...
My trusty old W&N field box.
Now retired, since the water pot shattered into myriad pieces and won't glue back together! The pot also acts as a cap to keep it all closed when not in use.
After a bit of persuasion, WN kindly sent me a new pot (I was hoping for a complete palette, but hey ho, 'twasn't to be). In the years since my old (grey) one was made, production has moved to China and the replacement (blue) pot doesn't clip on.
I found a similar, smaller, metal version going very cheap on Ebay, made by Schminke.

I then succumbed to one of those brass jobbies that have just come back on the market.

I bought mine empty.
So, all tooled up and nowhere to go!
