Like this one a lot Lewis. Think I will borrow this idea before it gets patented and shown on dragons den.
Well I just can't find the damn thing, I've seen it dozens of times on websites, did think about buying it.   This rough sketch may jog someone's memory. Made of metal. Come on chaps, help me out here! anyone else seen this contraption?

I imagine this is what you’re thinking of Alan, or similar? Available from Jackson’s for about a fiver, and I’m sure from others.
Well you've just beaten me to it Tessa, found it myself and about to post. YES! that's the little blighter - simple, cheap, and it probably works. It's described as: Frisk aluminium brush washer.

No doubt there are other similar designs out there Alan, but I still wouldn’t want to leave my brushes dangling in whatever cleaner for long! I assume they would eventually disintegrate.
This is the only one I’ve seen Tessa, but I agree, get them cleaned after each painting session. Now something to hold dirty brushes whilst I’m painting could be useful. I generally have around three or four on the go. I’ll have one in my painting hand, one in my mouth, and a couple or so in my left hand! It can get messy at times! All part of the fun of oil painting perhaps!
I recognise that Alan! Here’s what I use and this is also very cheap.
Well I’ve got one of those Tessa, I keep my clean brushes, or some of them, in it. I’ll buy another now, never gave it a thought! It’s ideal, although they aren’t ultra sturdy.
That’s very true. Mine sometimes undoes itself in my bag, but they are useful.
I put the extra brushes I’m using in the top pocket of my old painting shirt, just need to be careful you don’t take an eye out when you go to use one of them,
Thank you for all of this information I'll be sure to integrate them into my design.  It would appear that your ingenuity has already solved this problem Lewis, with some repurposing of existing products.  I suppose it isn't surprising that an artist would be a creative problem solver.  The pegs to hold various sized brushes is certainly superior in terms of security and flexibility.  Thanks Tess for the photos and information.
Good luck Gareth. If you come up with something we should know about, let us know.
I'll make sure I do, thanks Tess.
