Hi All, I've just created a Painters Online account and added some examples of my work. I can't believe I haven't seen this site before - there's some fabulous work on here and I'm so pleased to have found it! I prefer to work directly from life, either en plein air, or from still life set ups in my garage / studio. I paint in oils on stretched linen or panel which I prepare myself. I have painted all of my life. I love the work of Isaac Levitan, Shishkin, Henk Helmantel, Dennis Roberts, Richard Schmid, Jim McVicker, Mark Boedges.... the list goes on! I quit my job as a Deputy Headteacher in 2021 to pursue a career as an artist and am on a continual journey to improve my work.  I'd love to hear from other artists and get feedback on my work, as well as discover more inspirational art.

Welcome to the site David it always good to have new members , I will take a look at your work later if I already haven’t done so. Do join in the discussion and when your settled and feel like it let me have the names of artists that have inspired you and I will add them to the Inspiration from Artists Thread  meanwhile take a look at some of the featuring artists . Hope you enjoy the site and all the excellent things it has to offer. Just noticed that I have already seen your superb artwork , you have posted some excellent examples.

Indeed, welcome - fortunately, a lot of people HAVE heard of the site, but it's always good to get more: and do subscribe to one of the magazines, Leisure painter or The Artist: they're what pay to keep it running.
