Due to the speed of disappearance of art work off the gallery i suggest we notify the forum that we have added something to the gallery . This would mean we add ...full name , date , time and a short description of the art work to help single the work out readily e.g. White horse watercolour. To stop this thread from slipping off the bottom due maybe to lack of entries , one or other nearest to it can just type in "None" and this entry will just go to the top again. This should only benefit the forum members and we dont want those who dont give a damn for the forum but post umpteen stuff on the gallery. What do you think .? Good idea ....bad idea.?Syd. Sorry for the typo in the title .,you cant correct it ...how crazy is that when you can correct the rest?

I like this idea Syd. Was actually thinking of alerting Forum to my next abstract attempt (will try to insert a link) in order to get critique, don't want to keep bothering people by putting too many up in the works for critique thread but did find the advice helpful. One way that I make sure I don't miss paintings by my favourite artists is following them, wonder how many of our newer members know about this? In case you don't go back to the acrylics thread, I'll say here that mixing medium and water worked a treat. Far better than the medium on its own actually. Don't seem to think about adding water to acrylic medium, but more likely to now.
Can users be ignored or hidden in the gallery? Maybe that is also an option worth having... I mean for instance there is someone who seems to paint lots of paintings very similar, all the same colour with virtually no detail and all slightly different as far as I am concerned if I saw one I saw all of them... I would happily hide these.
This could all become a bit irritating if we all posted a message and I don't think it's necessary. We know why our work disappears so quickly - namely multiple postings which we have covered time and again. As Pat has said, it's just a matter of flicking through a few pages each day, it doesn't take that long, so why do we want to block up the forum?. One thread would possibly work as Sylvia has suggested but why do we find it necessary to highlight our work?, after all, it's on the gallery for all to see and I would feel that I was 'touting' for comments which I would find embarrassing.
Davey I couldn't agree more about the value of comments, especially where someone points out what could be done better, or what has worked for the viewer. Or even if someone likes it without saying why (I don't always do a critique, but do like to say that I like a painting). And I agree about the Gallery getting rather flooded at times too. Although I skim to see which paintings I want to open up and look at and comment on, I do get a bit frustrated and tend to give up at about screen 4.
