You'll find one of Alan Owen's most wonderful demos yet on YouTube, where he tries to paint a watercolour in the style of Edward Seago - I think it's one of his best films yet; there are one or two black screen moments at the start, when you wonder where the painting went, but as he works on you can see just wonderful colour, and the painting coming together without any preliminary drawing at all - it's a beautifully warm painting; and while Seago could have painted it, it's still Alan's picture. I've never yet managed to paint a sky like this, with French Ultramarine in the centre, Rose Madder to the left, Light Red to the right, and made it look in any way natural - but if you want to know how to do that, just look at this video. He's the little Wonder from Wigan......!
