Using this medium was and interesting experience. The watercolour has a lovely translucent look, and when adding deeper tones - at any stage - the pigment doesn't produce cauliflowers. It produces some lovely texture marks to the work. Its grainy to the touch when dry, and the paint, I think, lifts more easily, even greens. This painting, I copied, is from a wonderful book that has a collection of paintings by Marianne North. Next time I use the medium I will be more brave with it. The shadows I placed under the shrubbery on the left, now look as if they are floating, sigh...never mind :-|
