I keep a daily sketch journal and sketch books for days out and holidays as I like leather bound books I find it more economical to make my own I can also pick and choose the papers .
These are the three I'll be using on my stay in Scotland.
I think your sketch books are admirable, Bari.  Though I have to admit I never use them except in life/portraiture class and then I use A3, spiral bound.  The camera is my sketch book for everything else.  Why just sketch, when you can go the whole mile with a painting or a complete drawing.  But I have another comment to make for Lewis on the white aspect of drawings with cp’s.  I have white gel pens.
Great sketchbooks Bari, and with the paper of your choice...great idea.  I did try white gel pens, Linda.  Not quite what I was after, maybe I need better ones.  I used to like photography, but can't get out so much these days.  I sketch because I like it, and I don't like to be too reliant on photos...and with my usual subject matter, accuracy isn't too important.
Try Posca pens.
I’m less concerned about the bindings on my sketch books, it’s the quality of the paper that’s important to me. I prefer tinted papers generally, mid-tones like greys and beiges, which is why I use the Strathmore series of toned papers.  I opt for their heavier weight stock, their 300gsm weight is excellent with its stout backboard - perfect for plein air sketching.
