Well just had fun, I noticed one of the other members from my art group has used acrylic ink onto canvas….something never in my ken.   So having a small square canvas and some ancient inks I thought let’s have a go.  I have always been a tad messy and my fingers are now coated in purple.   Not my bestest paintings but an interesting result.

Love those vibrant colours Sylvia, you can always pretend your wearing glove for the next week or so . I like your experimental painting particularly the front petals, a bit of work on the back one just a few lines to give it shape and it would be a excellent piece.
Woof....! Exciting, vibrant, an explosion of colour - I wouldn't worry a bit about purple pinkies if I'd done this. I have never used coloured inks - all sorts of black inks, sepia and so on, but never coloured inks: obviously, I ought to, because this is just bursting with life: to be honest, I've always been nervous of them - but I just need to get an order in: what do you recommend, Sylvia?
Love it, Sylvia.  I've used acrylic inks for detail with a pen, but of course with brush, they're something else again.
Thank you….Paul, Robert and Norrette.  I thought I had replied but it seems to have vanished. This is Liquitex Robert. I will have a go with Brusho and Chroma.  Apparently I can varnish it and a suggestion to use wax.
As we get older, purple is a good colour Sylvia, and more so when you portray one of your favorite subjects, Iris. Nice work. Thinking of the poem by Jenny Joseph.
When I am old I shall wear purple….. Yes, it seems easy, the idea of doing or saying what you want when you’re older ( notice I didn’t say “old” )…personally I still find it difficult. Privately it’s another thing entirely.

Chroma is so great because it can be used either as a regular acrylic OR an ink - and I have used that, just not products specifically labelled as inks.
Well at 83 Carol I am allowed to wear purple with a red hat that doesn’t go……
L.O.L,  and I wouldn't want to be the person that tries to tell you to do anything different, Sylvia :)
