<div>You really cheer me up Double D - by the way, how many jobs have you had?</div>
Totally agree Syd and Michael, there's a time and place and all that and this is not the place. Big difference between silly humour, which we all from time to time indulge in and those "jokes" which belong somewhere else.
My painting of a cow in a landscape has now started something quite different from what I had expected. Oh dear.
Indeed it has Pat and this seems to be happening more and more, thereby offering no useful advice to the original poster, which surely is what the forum is about and why the question was asked in the first place. Like the others, there is NO time or place for obscene jokes if you can call it a joke, and particularly on a forum which is trying to attract our younger members, as I have said before my Grandchildren look at this site, as many others will do also, it's sickening and I for one have had enough of this constant barrage of pathetic attempt at humour.
NOT FUNNY DD. you have offended.
I've received several complaints about one of DD's posts - some of which, rather oddly, seem to have come from him - what on earth was the point of that? You can remove your own posts if you want to. In any event, I've removed it, since that seems to be what the original poster wanted. I have no desire to police jokes, even if I find them remarkably unfunny, and I'm not very interested in pursuing good taste, whatever that might be, either. Maybe just think whether you'd really want others, or their children, to see a post before you click on Post Reply? And please don't insult other users of the Forum - we're all likely to be of different ages, and have differing standards and views about what's acceptable and what isn't. It doesn't really take MUCH effort, does it, to show a little respect for other people's standards, even if you don't share them yourself? By the way, no one is "banned", at least so far as I'm concerned. I know that Dawn is very reluctant indeed to ban anybody, and jokes are fine: I can't speak for her any further than that, but the key thing about this forum is that it's supposed to be friendly - that doesn't mean trivial, or excessively chatty, or too personal, or off topic, even though of course there's a bit of all of that now and then: we are only human: but it does imply mutual respect - and if you can't offer that, my own view is that you've worn out your welcome. http://www.isleofwightlandscapes.net http://www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk
I think Robert has said it all. This is a wonderful art forum and I have personally found all who contribute to it exceedingly helpful. Apart from this "joke" which DD knows now was not in the best of taste, it would be great if we could go forward, because apart from this lapse of judgment, I have noticed that in the past he has been extremely helpful as well, and I would hate there to be continued bad feeling.
