Acrylics on board. Smallish. Cheers
It's your painting....only you know that....just paint
There's a section down below for Works in Progress, and another for those requiring a critique of their paintings; you might get a better response if you posted in one of those. What exactly are you asking with "where do we go from here"? I'm tempted to answer, "well, finish it!". Other than the head, the painting is unresolved - you know what to do about that at least as well as anyone here is likely to. Give the girl arms and a background against which her figure can be read .... http://www.isleofwightlandscapes.net http://www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk
Well, what can I say?, or where shall I start?... I don't have any background knowledge on you (Him or Her) but I am assuming that you are a relative newcomer to painting so this is my advice. Firstly and the most important thing is to practice your drawing skills, there are loads of books on how to draw the human head as well as on the Internet. It is fairly obvious that you don't have these skills at present but they can be learnt quite easily, proportions being vital and unless you start out with these disciplines you won't progress. Only then should you develop your skills by using colour and the rest is a natural progression from thereon, or should be. Your attempt to hide your weaknesses by splashing around some random colours hasn't worked and won't work, not yet anyway so have a good think about where you want to be with your painting in the future and set out a plan of attack so to speak.
What a way to make an entrance.... Good people giving you advice and you react like that....I suggest you read the forum rules and do your research before posting.
If the painting is finished it should have been posted in the gallery to avoid misunderstanding. Alan's advice seems good and sensible to me so if you are really so insecure and sensitive you might be better going to the gallery or making the reasons for your postings clearer.
I have deleted your second reply. It was unnecessary and offensive, even if you were annoyed. If you want just to show your work, the Gallery is the place. The forum is, as forums tend to be, a place for discussion.
