I am making a acrylic impasto painting and I am looking for a medium, that can be worked with as any other acrylic paint with a palette knife, but once it solidifies it would be transparent. It had been recommended to me to use gloss acrylic medium on its own. However it turned out that if I apply too much of it. It is unable to dry properly and remains opaque. And layering it little by little is not feasible time-wise. I found some polymer transparent sealing glue in a hardware store to be somewhat what I have been looking for except that it does not solidify. I think it is an ok compromise, however I wanted to inquire whether there might be something else I could potentially use? Thank you for any possible thoughts !

PVA glue should do it or impasto gel. (Probably the same thing).  Daler Rowney produce gloss and Matt medium.
There are numerous acrylic mediums which should suit you, from Liquitex to Golden, to Daler Rowney Cryla - none should present any problem with drying times - they all, eg Daler Rowney impasto medium, dry within a few days.  Anything that dries faster than that presents the risk of cracking.   You perhaps just need to give the medium you choose a little time to dry/cure: there are some things you shouldn't be trying to hurry: all mediums and glues/adhesives need a little time to settle and harden.
Addition to this - what you want is a good art supplier's catalogue - Jackson's do separate catalogues for oil, watercolour, and acrylic, I think - ask them to send you one.
They do indeed, I’ve got all three of them, there’s a nominal charge of £1
