Struggling to make crimson red gradients help please

Sussed it - primary red + deep violet & a touch of emerald green (sap green works too but it's less saturated)
That'll give you an opaque colour which you could certainly use as crimson in a given context: but crimson still ought to be transparent; and Alizarin crimson in acrylic - oil and watercolour are more problematic - will give you that in one tube, as opposed to the three this would take. Mind you, at least it finds a use for Emerald Green, which otherwise takes some doing.
