I have some acrylic paintings, on canvas and board, that I did a while ago which were varnished at the time and I can now see that they could be improved.
Can I paint over the varnish, then re-varnish? Would I need to sand the surface to 'rough it up' or apply gesso (perhaps a clear one) before I re-paint?
Have any of you ever done this? :-S
