I have been asked to paint an outdoor sign on marine ply. I intend to use a wood primer( from DIY shop) followed by a coat or 2 of acrylic gesso. Then a coat of acrylic paint all over ( artists). Then paint the sign with acrylics (Artists). Then a couple of coats of polyurethane varnish. Will this be OK. I have never painted a sign before & would hate it to peel off a couple of weeks after it goes outside.
