After posting a picture of an attempt at using acrylic and some positive remarks about that painting. I thought that I might like to try again. However, I do not cope well with the bright and what I think are gaudy shades of this medium. (Probably due to being used to using watercolour) Can anyone tell me the best way to tone down acrylics a little bit. Using the tiniest amount of black and raw umber has already been suggested by a friend of mine that paints folk art animals on stones, but was wondering if these two colours were the favoured ones to use to tone down greens and blues? Which are the colours that I find the hardest to cope with. :-( I would appreciate any suggestions that you could give me on this one. Thanks Georgie x
