Your Place

Your Place

Sixty artists reveal their creative passion for the North York Moors in a new exhibition at the Inspired by … Gallery in the Moors National Park Centre at Danby, located in the heart of this stunning region. ‘Your Place’ features a wide variety of artwork, all inspired by the area’s special qualities.

Work will range from painting and pottery to photography and prints, all of which draw on the landscape, wildlife or maybe just the atmosphere of the North York Moors, including stunning graphic photography by Graham Chaddock, who is intrigued by the industrial heritage of the area; landscape paintings by Neil McBride, who tries to capture the fleeting effects of sunlight on the rugged moorland; paper-cut artwork by Kimberli Werner and abstract paintings by Sally Lister, who combines sheep farming with art at her farm in Glaisdale Dale. This exhibition continues the celebrations surrounding the 60th anniversary of the North York Moors National Park and has been supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. ‘Your Place’ runs from 21 July to 19 August. Open daily in July from 10.00am to 5.00pm and in August from 9.30am to 5.30pm. Admission free.
