Wells Art Contemporary: WAC Awards 2018

Wells Art Contemporary, is a leading open exhibition for international contemporary art.

Following an open call, 123 works by 118 artists were selected from a total of 1,397 submissions from 26 different countries, the highest number of entries in the history of the Awards. The selection was made by a panel of leading figures from the art world including Caroline Walker, artist; Harry Borden, artist; Donald Smith, Director of Exhibitions, Chelsea Space; Julian Wild, artist; Peter Randall-Page, artist, and Tali Lennox, artist. Spanning painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, installation and video, the selected works will be shown at the historic Bishop’s Palace & Gardens in Wells, Somerset, from 6 - 21 October 2018, and prizes - which include cash, exhibition and professional development prizes - will be presented at a private ceremony on Friday 12 October 2018. Following the exhibition in Wells, we are delighted to announce that a smaller selected exhibition of paintings and sculpture will be presented at the Gainsborough Hotel in Bath.
