Splinter: Photo Art Fair

Splinter: Photo Art Fair

Splinter at Michael Hoppen Gallery: Five independent photo and book dealers selling artworks for one day (Sat 30.11 from noon). Glamorous, affordable, great, fun presents for all.

The photograph is the new work of art – and a gallery in Chelsea has plans to make great pics available at affordable prices in a special one-day event at the end of this month. The most expensive snap ever, cost a New York buyer a cool £2.8millon two years ago. But thanks to Splinter, a concept from the Michael Hoppen Gallery in Jubilee Place, the event will offer a wide range of 19th, 20th and 21st century photography for the second year running. With many pieces priced at a few hundred pounds and all under £1,000, it’s the perfect environment for new and experienced collectors to browse through hundreds of photographs to add or start a collection, or simply find the perfect present. The Royal College of Art students and an independent specialist book dealer: Oliver Wood will also take part. The independent photo dealers participating are: Jenny Allsworth, Roland Belgrave, Pierre Spake, Caroline Markovic and the Michael Hoppen gallery. ---- On Saturday November 30, 2013 at 12:00 pm (ends Saturday November 30, 2013 at 8:00 pm) Venue Details: Michael Hoppen Gallery, 3 Jubilee Place, London, SW3 3TD, United Kingdom Category: Galleries / Art ---- URL: Twitter http://atnd.it/1bQ36Nd ---- Price: entrance fee: £2 ---- Artists: Joe Szabo, Araki polaroids, Karl Blossfeldt, Colin Jones, Shoji Ueda, anonymous work. ========
