The hugely popular Silverdale and Arnside Art and Craft Trail is back for a 13th year! This free annual event is hosted by the neighbouring villages of Silverdale in Lancashire and Arnside in Cumbria and this year runs from 23-25 June. Visitors are invited to step inside studios and venues to experience the wealth of creative talent in neighbouring villages within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of Morecambe Bay. This iconic landscape provides the perfect backdrop to inspire the creativity of artists and craftspeople from the local area. All creative submissions welcomed to please all:- art,ceramics,photography,glass,wood,metal, paper, textiles....and more! The event includes 9 key sites with over 30 smaller venues with family activities, workshops and demonstrations throughout both villages. The wealth of talent on show is vast, and visitors can experience art inspired by the local landscape through a variety of mediums, including workshops, live performances and open studios. Visitors can view the landscape from the Trail “Shuttle” bus,using the free Park and Ride sites. l 2017 welcomes new participants, students from local schools and recent graduates. They bring a fresh perspective to the event which encourages young people to follow their artistic ideas. This three day event is open on Friday 23 June from 1 pm to 8 pm and Saturday 24 June and Sunday 25 June from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm. Artists and artisans welcome visitors into their homes and studios to view or purchase their work and participate in a variety of workshops.
