Signs Of The Times - A solo exhibition by Tommy Gurr

A solo exhibition by the very talented Tommy Gurr...

A solo exhibition by the very talented Tommy Gurr, showcasing a complete collection of contemporary and vintage road signs enhanced by the satirical and sometimes politically charged graphic stencilled illustrations applied to each original sign to make each one a standalone statement piece of urban street art. Please join us at "Signs Of The Times!" 7-17th September. Opening/private view 6-11 pm Thursday 7th September. See gallery website for general opening times. Please email to RSVP. About the artist: Tommy Gurr is a visual artist from Whitstable, Kent. After attending Kent Institute of Art and Design (KIAD) and The University for Creative Arts (UCA) he combined his art with his second great love, travelling, which has taken him across the globe, from Africa to OZ. His stencil murals can be found in Camden and as far as the streets of Siem Reap, Cambodia, where he has featured as an artist in residence for the past two years. Returning to the UK this year, once again Tommy was invited to feature at the Henley Festival where alongside exhibiting he performed a live 3-day paint to festival goers. His experimentation with unconventional media and 'play on words' looks set to continue through his new collection for 2017. Category: Arts | Visual Arts | Galleries / Art.
