This is an open entry art competition, exhibition and sale of postcard sized (A6) original artwork. Artists of 13 years and up are invited to submit 1 or 2 postcard sized, original artworks to be sold in aid of the Milestone Special School, Gloucester. Prizes will be awarded by jury and by public vote, incl 2 top prizes of £100 and cash and goods for runners up. All of the works will be exhibited at St John's Church, Northgate St in Gloucester City Centre during the Art Tournament Festival between 14th - 19th August 2012. There will be a reception and prize giving on Saturday 18th August. All of the proceeds from the sale of works will be donated to the wonderful Milestone School, which does so much to improve life for children with special needs.

RULES AND SUBMISSION DETAILS - please read before entering the competition. This is an open competition for entrants aged 13 years and above. Each entrant is invited to submit up to 2 postcard size, original artworks; orientated in landscape or portrait. Work can be in any media, providing that the postcard does not exceed 4” x 6” [105mm x 148mm] (A6) in dimension and does not exceed 4mm in depth. This is essential for display purposes. A judge’s panel will select one winner in early August and the second winner will be a late award by way of public vote. All entries will be available to view from 14th-19th August at St John’s Church, Northgate St, Gloucester, with the judge’s top 100 on prominent display. Prizes for each winner will consist of £100 and £50 for each runner-up and will be awarded on Saturday 18th August from 11am. The winning works will be displayed on the Art Tournament website and the winners invited to receive their awards in person where possible. Further donations and prizes are being sought so it is very possible that there will be more than one runner-up prize and more than two categories. The entries will be sold after prize-giving on a first-come, first-served basis at a minimum of £5 per work. All proceeds of sale will be donated to the Milestone School. Works should be signed on the back, with your name also clearly written for identification purposes. Your name, address and telephone number must also be included on a separate piece of paper, so that organisers will be able to identify and contact you at short notice, should you win. If you are able to collect a prize in person on the 18th August, please say so on your contact detail sheet. Organisers will not store contact details after the competition and will not pass on any details to third parties. Submissions should be sent in an envelope, stamped and addressed to : SABRE ART, SABRE CLOSE, GREEN FARM, QUEDGELEY, GLOUCESTER, GL2 4NZ. CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT: 25TH JULY 2012. Unsold works cannot be returned by post but can be collected from the Sabre Art studio-gallery between 11am -5pm on any Saturday in September. Any works that remain uncollected or unsold by 1st October will be donated to the Milestone School for sale at future events or for disposal.
