Lost Generation

Lost Generation

Exhibition of work that makes WW1 relevant to today's young people. Inspired by the idea that it would have been YOU. The exhibition includes art, music and drama created by the artist Andy Farr and the results of collaborations with Trinity School Leamington, and Cockburn School Leeds. Exhibition at Gallery 150 Leamington Spa.

100 years ago the youth of Britain were caught up in the excitement of fighting for the honour and glory of their king and country. If you were a teenager in 1914 a third of your friends would have been dead 4 years later, those who did survive would have been physically injured and mentally scarred. Lost Generation is an Arts Council funded initiative by Andy Farr to make the WW1 centenary more relevant to today’s young people. The exhibition is mix of 2D, 3D and audio visual pieces resulting from his work with art, drama and music students at Trinity School, Leamington and from his work with Cockburn School, Leeds. His inspiration came from the thought that 100 years ago his two sons would have been part of the generation of men and boys, sent to war. For more information visit www.lostgeneration.info
