JEREMY BARLOW ROI | Recent Works Featuring France, Italy & England

A solo show of over seventy new works by one of the country's best known landscape painters, Jeremy Barlow ROI.

Jeremy Barlow has exhibited widely both at home and abroad. An inveterate traveller, he is especially drawn to the light, the colour and the outdoor life so readily available in the Mediterranean countries. As a consequence, he spends extended periods of time working in France, Italy and Spain and even as far afield as Japan. Jeremy studied illustration at Northampton School of Art; inspired by the British landscape artist Stanley Orchart, he spent several years developing his own style of painting whilst following a successful graphic career working in studios in the Midlands and London. In 1977 he moved to Germany and for the next six years concentrated on painting German, French, Belgian and Dutch landscapes and town scenes. He returned to England in 1983 and since then has exhibited at many major venues including the Royal Academy, The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, The Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Royal Society of British Artists. An elected member of the Royal Society of Oil Painters (the ROI) he served as a council member from 1995 to 1999. He won the Stanley Grimm Prize in both 1994 and 2000 and in 1999 won the Alan Gourlay Memorial Prize at the Annual ROI Exhibition at the Mall Galleries. He has exhibited widely in London and the provinces as well as further afield in Germany, the Netherlands, the USA and since 1978 has achieved over 200 successful solo exhibitions to his name.
