Jake Attree: A Case For Place - Two-Day Workshop
We will spend these two days exploring The Old River Ancholme at Brigg through drawing and painting. Day 1 will begin with making sketchbook drawings along the riverbank with the intention of finding a suitable subject for painting. On Day 2, we will begin painting in oils or watercolour; Jake will give a demonstration of both. You will then paint all day, with Jake on hand throughout to offer tips and advice. The day concluding with a plenary session and a sense of fulfilment.
We will spend these two days exploring the Old River Ancholme at Brigg through drawing and painting. Day 1 will begin with making sketchbook drawings along the riverbank with the intention of finding a suitable subject for painting. After lunch, we will develop these ideas into a more resolved and larger drawing; I will bring sketchbooks and larger drawings to show how I approach this concept plus giving a demonstration. At the end of the day, we will sum up what we have achieved. On Day 2, we will begin painting in oils or watercolour; I will give a demonstration of both. We will then paint all day, either from drawings in the studio or on site (depending on participants’ preferences and the weather!) I will be on hand to offer advice, direction and encouragement, the day concluding with a plenary session and a sense of fulfilment.
