The Broadstone Art Society will be holding their Spring Exhibition at The Youth Centre Moor Road Broadstone Dorset BH17 8AZ, from Saturday 30th March until Saturday 6th April 2013, open daily 10am-6pm. The Youth Centre has proved to be an excellent venue for our exhibitions with all the paintings in one large hall. We encourage our visitors to browse the paintings at their leisure and there is ample seating to relax and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee whilst deciding on which of the paintings they will vote for the ‘Best in Show’, or maybe which painting they would like to purchase and adorn one of their walls at home. The last exhibition in September was an overwhelming success made possible in part by the support of the local shops who very kindly gave the artists some window space to promote the exhibition and the Lewis –Manning Hospice by placing a painting and poster in the shop window, a total of £113 being raised for the Lewis –Manning Hospice. September Exhibition 2012 The awards given at the September exhibition were as follows: President’s Award: for the artist showing significant improvement, was Margarete Tucknott The Broadstone Award: for the favourite painting voted by the public during the exhibition Winner Jeffery Bradley `Digging Bait, Acrylic on canvas 12” x 8” The Heatley Rose Bowl: for best painting using figures Judged by Sarah Kelly and the winner was John Britton with his painting `Campo Francesco Morosini-Venice’ www.broadstoneartsociety.org Visit us on facebook
