Richard was born in West Yorkshire and grew up in various rural locations around the UK following his families work, by the age of 16 he had seen most of the country. He started studying art in his last years of school; however he decided he wanted to see the world and joined Her Majesties Forces straight from school at the age of 16. Whilst in the Army Richard studied fine art with Buckinghamshire University recently completing an honours degree in creative art, painting and drawing. The journey to becoming a professional artist is a long road, in Richards’s case he took an unusual path alongside active service and raising three beautiful children with his wife Vicky.
