The First Yellow Triffid of the Season

I was surprised to see the yellow Hibiscus so soon in the season so I had to take a photo to show you all now that you are coming into your winter. I had a wonderful day today ...I went on my usual Saturday jaunt to Garden City our nearest big shopping centre and met a friend for coffee and gossip nothing like it...we had a nice stroll around and boy do I like a change of season...sales everywhere...I bought two tops at $5 each originally $20 I'm happy about this because I have been spending my money on art material and I'm getting a bit threadbare...I bought a lovely Pashmina (synthetic of course) for $5 originally $30 and a pair of silver sandals for $15 originally $30...so for $30 I got $100 worth of gear...that gave me a good excuse to take myself off to my little art shop where you guessed it another sale...W&N watercolours buy three get 30% off so I bought Burnt Sienna Light which I don't have, Golden Ochre a smashing colour for Australian landscapes and Cerulean Blue (red hue) another beautiful colour which makes wonderful Australian skies...these colours don't come in any other range...I spent $35 in the art shop so it shows you where my mind lies when it comes to spending money. Tomorrow I'm off to look for a narrowish trestle table for my studio cum spare room, I have a square one but it's not big enough for the way I work being ambidextrous I have stuff on all sides and I just know if I don't get it right the carpet will be multicoloured within the week I begin classes on Monday and I'm really looking forward to it and have some nice photos to try...will post any successful work...the landscapes, I'm leaving for a while I'm getting angry with them. Daughter went to see John Farnham's Whispering Jack concert last night and she loved it...held in a smaller venue than normal which she said was so much better that the usual huge venues where the sound is awful...tonight she has gone to see Black Eyed Peas...to date she hasn't shown to pick up my grand daughter, Sasha the dog, so I assume she will be staying the night Isn't this larger format wonderful so much easier on aging eyes and great in the gallery...well done Dawn I presume Well as usual it's late here in Oz so I will sign off and hit the sack.
