I tried to start my blog yesterday...but must have pushed the wrong buttons, so here's hoping this will be a life defining moment and be my very first blog post ever! Please have a looksie at my portfolio, so you have an idea about my work. It is a mixed bag with anything from nuns to nudes. I do love to use colour so hopefully that message gets through from viewing it. I also enjoy painting some whacky things that suddenly come to mind. A few weeks ago I started a new note book completely devoted to titles for future paintings. I enjoy writing and find words inspire a painting. I also have the most bizarre dreams and should put them down on canvas sometime. I wonder what inspires you to paint? Write and let me know. I live on the beautiful Otago coast of the South Island of New Zealand in an old villa with my wonderful partner. We enjoy gardening, a smallish cottage garden surrounds the house. Yesterday was the shortest day...yup in the middle of winter down here. I was busy making bird seed cakes for the wild birds. Today the back garden was like an aviary. Goldfinches, sparrows, blackbirds, thrushes, waxeyes and bellbirds. There are also Mallard ducks and their partners who nest around here and they parade them every spring/summer...I think 13 ducklings is the record so far! There are also hens from nextdoor who have started to venture over the fence during the last week. Anyway I am rambling and it's late. I look forward to reading other blogs on here and learning about different people, places and of course ART :) ~ Anni
