Robert Brindley - Painting Light

Atmospheric watercolours and oils

Painting in watercolour, oil, pastel and mixed media, my primary aim is always to capture the light and atmosphere in my subject matter. Being a member of 'The Royal Society of Marine Artists' I have a passion for painting coastal scenery, small boats and harbours. I have always been committed to passing on my knowledge to students of all abilities, especially beginners, as I believe that a sound foundation is essential to the progress and development of all painters. Subsequently, I continue to allocate time to teaching and demonstrating to art societies and small groups throughout the UK. In addition I tutor workshops for the following establishments: 'The West Norfolk Arts Centre' http://www.westnorfolkarts.co.uk/ 'The Sandpiper Studio' http://thesandpiperstudio.co.uk/Home.php 'The Staithes Art School' http://www.staithesgallery.co.uk/pages/staithes_art_school.htm I have been filmed for the following instructional DVD's by Town House Films: 'Painting Atmospheric Watercolour Landscapes' 'Oil Sketching On Location' 'Successful Summer Watercolour Landscapes' I am also the author of the following books, published by 'The Crowood Press': 'Painting Boats and Coastal Scenery' 'Painting In Pastels' 'Painting Landscapes in Oil' For further information, view my website: www.robertbrindley.com
