So Fiona and Dennis, The result of further investigation is that the cottage is called Glen Cottage and it is on the Langwell Estate in Strathkannaid, the year the photo was taken we had gone up there to do the 'Northern Four' it was a time of little white and lots of brown landscape. Unless they have built anymore nearby I would recommend that place for solitude to anyone.
