Hello and Welcome to my Blog.. My name is Shaun Myatt I'm 33 and from the southern part of England, namely Cornwall. I have lived in Cornwall all my life, and have felt it's good side and the bad. Cornwall, Famous for it's Coast lines and Gardens, Amazing scenery, and it's unique ability to make a creationist go insane. History is where i spend most of time, wishing i could have been born as a child of the ages, and not in the present. Some would regard me as a Jack of all trades and a master of none, and i wouldn't disagree, but i do understand one thing.. The Importance of The Arts through history, and the secrets and skills that they hold. We need to stand up as Artists and creators alike, the free minds, and Thinkers, as we may lose our gift, the gift to change the world through our expressions and passions. History as we know it, or rather how it's been presented to us, is usually always through through Art and Design. The level of which, always manages to surprise me, every time. It was always the Artist that controlled the king A question i always ask my self is, how has it come to this, In a time where Art, if you can even call it that, which is purchased and sold at the forefront of our very definition, is complete nonsense, and in terms of fundamental skill, completely worthless. Works that are being sold today in the critic Art world are assets not works, people investing 55 million in two 8 ft canvases in plain blue, painted in probably 20 minutes is not my vision of the right direction for Art in general, yet it exists. In contrast, there are Paintings and Etchings from the greats of yesteryear that you could write a book on, without even starting to tackle Composition Perfections, Paint Mixing, Anatomy. Perspective, Lighting and Scale. I ask you, what can i get out of a blue canvas?. if you cannot learn the past, you cannot shape the future This blog will be an updated birds eye view of my attempts to create paintings and drawings to the level of the greats, taking into consideration the above mentioned elements. The Mind was the Temple, the Eyes the Priest, nothing more. You think, therefore you are, You think therefore you see and when we understand the real meaning of that...we are unbeatable.
