Being your own artist

Being your own artist

The world would be boring if we were the same be you.

So starting out as an artist as a kid I drew cars free hand with crayons and I splatters paint on paper and loved them! Now as we get older we become more self critical and pressure to be the best is more intense. I did get many books and felt pressure you had to be just like the best out there to be the best. Actually one day I threw inks, acrylics and smudged it with palette knives and I got a huge response and someone asked to buy it. I used to ask why some artists did things almost photograph like or could make a mess look a master piece. What it actually takes is practice but you just going with it doing it your way. Don’t trace or copy the paintings the exact same way as other artists. If you do don’t feel it has to be exactly like theirs it is your illustration. I find the best option is joining workshops where you practice and practice techniques and various mediums. Life drawing is also crucial to better drawings that give us better paintings. Getting your own photographs and actually seeing what’s in front of you outside your door. I once had no money and what is free is been outdoors. During these difficult times it’s probably best you stick to what’s close to home but images in books and online are also free. I stocked up on various books from search press and I am highly anticipating Robert Dutton’s as his style of drawing and painting is fantastic! He can help you develop your own artistic style been expressive. My aim is to allow people to also be them. Don’t try been anyone else but YOU. Over the weekend il be attempting to dive into my art and begin the process of improving my own abilities and help others do the same. Il keep updating the gallery as I go. Remember there’s only one you.
