Artist Profile

Carole Baker RBSA was born in 1965 in Lichfield, Staffordshire. She trained as a Graphic Designer and ran her own business for 18 years. Then in 2007 she turned to painting full time from her studio in Chase Terrace, Staffordshire. She attended Matthew Boulton College and later studied at Lichfield School of Art. Elected Full Member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists in April 2008, Carole regularly exhibits there and in gallery shows and open exhibitions throughout the UK. A selection of her work has been produced as limited edition prints which can be found widely in galleries throughout the UK, Ireland and beyond. Inspired by the landscape, bold, vibrant colour and texture fascinate her and she strives to create exciting and evocative paintings. She paints in acrylics, watercolour and mixed media. Always looking for new ways to work, Carole believes this is a great cure for boredom and allows her to be more expressive. She sees the use of sketches and photographs taken on location as a starting point only... tending to paint the way she feels about the subject as opposed to copying literally, giving her the chance to put her personal stamp on the subject. For Carole painting comes from the heart and it is something she is highly passionate about. She also runs painting workshops and breaks throughout the year in Lichfield, Staffordshire for beginners through to exhibiting artists and demonstrations for Art Clubs and Societies.
